December Gaming Programs: Winter Wii

Bored over Winter Break? Not on Tuesdays! Come to the library for our Winter Wii programs. Board games, card games, and snacks will always be available at all of our gaming programs. We will also sometimes have free advance reader copies of books to give away.

Tuesday, December 21, 2:30-4:30: Just Dance 2. Come boogie with friends and work up an appetite.

Tuesday, December 28, 2:30-4:30: Super Smash Bros. Brawl or Mario Kart — we’ll have a vote. Any other suggestions? Comment here and tell me what you want to play!

No Teen Gaming Program in November

Our normal monthly gaming program falls on Veteran’s Day, when the library is closed, and with a vacation coming up and Thanksgiving just after that, there will not be a gaming program in November.

The teen gaming programs will resume in December with one or two special events during Winter Break, so look for announcements on that soon.

If you have particular games you want to play or tournaments you’d want to participate in, please e-mail me or comment on this post and let me know your thoughts. I love hearing about what games you’d come to the library to play. See you in September!

Reminder: Teen Gaming Program Tomorrow!

We’ll be setting up the Wii for tomorrow, Thursday, October 14, from 4-5:30 p.m. (Sometimes if I can set up early, I’m ready to go at 3:45.) Stop by to play any of our multiplayer games and eat some snacks!

October 2010 Programs

The Programs tab has been updated with more information on our October programs. Here’s the scoop.

Our next teen gaming program will be Thursday, October 14, at 4 p.m. (Sometimes if I can set up early, I’m ready to go at 3:45.) We have a ton of multiplayer games for the Wii and the PS2 right now — everything from music games like Rock Band 2 and Guitar Hero to fighting and racing games like Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Mario Kart.

Then, on Thursday, October 21, we’ll have a program on ghost hunting for all you paranormal enthusiasts, called Things that Go Bump in the Night. Come learn what it takes to be a real paranormal investigator with Kevin Sampron and Spirit Paranormal Investigations, a ghost hunting group based out of Littleton. See and hear evidence SPI has collected of ghost activity in Colorado (including photos and recordings of spirit voices) and learn about the real tools used in ghost hunting. The program will start at 7 p.m. and you do need to register, so call 303-762-2555 or stop by the reference desk to sign up. Space is limited!

Teen Gaming: September 2010

Our next teen gaming program will be Thursday, September 9, at 4 p.m. (Sometimes if I can set up early, I’m ready to go at 3:45.) We have a ton of multiplayer games for the Wii right now — come to the program ready to play and we’ll all pick a few to try! I’m thinking Rayman Raving Rabbids this time because we haven’t done it yet and they have crazy minigames, but we also have Rock Band 2, Lego Star Wars, Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and more. No advance sign-up required. See you there!
