Teens’ Top Ten Books Announced

After more than 8,000 teens voted in this years Top Ten award, the American Library Association has announced the ten winning books! These books received the most votes from teens between August 23 and September 17. We have all of these books in our young adult collection at EPL!

The Teens’ Top Ten is:

Teen’s Top Ten Announced

More than 11,000 teen voters chose Paper Towns as their favorite book in the 2009 Teens’ Top Ten! The winners were announced in October.

teenstoptenTeens across the country in schools and book clubs have nominated 25 novels for the best young adult books of the year, the 2009 Teens’ Top Ten award. And you can vote for your favorites now through September 18. Winners will be announced during Teen Read Week, October 18-24.

Pick the Ten Best Young Adult Novels for 2009!

Graceling, City of Ashes, Paper Towns, Living Dead Girl, Flygirl, Bloodline — what do all these books have in common? They are members of an elite list of 25 novels nominated, by teens, for the best young adult books of the year, the  2009 Teens’ Top Ten award. And you can vote for your favorites during Teen Read Week, October 18-14.

The more you read, the better idea you have of which of these books really should be listed as the best of 2009.

I intend to read a lot of these books myself (though I can’t vote) so feel free to discuss any of them with me here or in person. Are there any books on the list you love to death? Any books you think shouldn’t be on the list? (I’ve got at least one in mind for that.)
